The Village Sheep
Satisfying The Deepest Cravings of the Yarn Obsessed
The Village Sheep is your source for both classic and fashionable yarns, accessories, and ideas for knitting and crocheting. The shop was originally opened in 2004 by Wendy Banks. Wendy brought in a variety of beautiful yarns and textures, and created this bright beautiful space we are so fortunate to call our own. After her passing in 2008, my husband and I bought the shop and set off on this grand adventure!
Thanks to my mom, I have been a lifelong knitter. It has been almost 20 years since she put those needles in my hands and I haven't been able to stop thinking about knitting since! During the past ten years, I have worked in several different knitting shops, including this one, and have always tried to make knitting a part of my life. I couldn't bear the thought of such an amazing shop being lost and couldn't pass up the opportunity to pursue my dream of having my own shop.
I hope that all of you can share that dream with me, and help me fill this shop with laughter and knitting.
For me, there is nothing better than to share my love of knitting with others. To watch someone discover a new technique, or see their joy at finishing a project puts a smile on my face.
Of course my husband will tell you that I needed the shop because I was running out of space for yarn at our house, but what knitter can't say that?
Everything I carry, from yarns to needles to books and patterns, comes from the world's finest manufacturers. I am always seeking out new yarns and aim to have a yarn to suit every project. I stock an abundance of fine yarns in a variety of fibers including wool, alpaca, silk, cotton, linen, cashmere, and novelties and a wide selection of patterns, books, needles, and notions.
The shop is open on a part time basis to allow me some balance between work and my personal life, but I'm always available by appointment or via email for any questions you may have.
